John is 21 Months Old! 4-30-14

John has graduated from calling himself "Yawn," and has moved on to calling himself, "Dyawn." :) It is just so cute. He is getting closer and closer to being able to say the J sound.

We often sing the A B C's. I'm trying to relearn the signs so that we can do them together. When I sing it, John loves to interject the letters that he knows. He says, "A, B," and then he waits for "I," He LOVES "P" and "Q." Oh the simple joys of motherhood!
John and Stella are buddies. Stella Winder lives right next door. Her mom, Beth and I are great friends, and it is so nice to have them so close by. John and Stella are trying to learn to share with each other, which is difficult, but they often have a lot of fun together, especially dancing.
John is drinking 5 mL of wheatgrass juice a day now! And he loves to help me plant it.

We really enjoyed our visit to see my family in Chicago this month. John just loves them!! He can say all their names.

We are so proud of Uncle Trey for serving a mini-mission for the weekend. We were so glad we could help him get ready. As soon as he came home, he started filling-out his mission application. Trey will be a great missionary, just like his brother Jacob. John looks up to Trey so much. He calls him on the phone often (pretending) and loves to talk about him. I hope John will follow in his uncles (and father's - of course) footsteps, and serve the Lord as a missionary.
Aunt Ashely was so sweet to babysit John for us so that we could attend the temple. John loves spending time with her! And it is so cute to hear him say "Ashee!"

John just adores Bebe (Grandma) and Cece (Grandpa).

Uncle Trey and Aunt Ashley taught John how to do "Bones." Now John does it all the time.
John watches his Papa do the Ab wheel, and then he likes to try :) He is really into imitating. He loves to do and say whatever we do and say. So we have to be careful to do and say good things! He's always watching.

 Easter with Grandma Myrtle

John's favorite word is "outside." When he wants something, he often asks himself and then gives himself permission. "Outside?" "Ok, yeah!"

John is our little explorer. It is SO nice to be able to close the gate on the driveway and let him roam around the yard.

We've been working on colors. It's so adorable when he says "Ahmee-oh" for Amarillo/Yellow. "Azul" or blue is the first one we did. But now, whenever I ask him "Que color es esto?"/ "What color is this?" He responds, "Azul!" Even when I ask him "Que es esto?" / "What is this?" He responds, "Azul!".... I don't think he gets the idea yet.... We'll keep working on it :)

John is so expressive.

John loves to count. Mostly he can say, "Uno, dos tres," and "One, two, three," in his own little way. When I say uno, he says dos, so he's starting to get it!

How we love you, John!! You light up our life even and especially when it seems cloudy and gray. You truly are our sunshine :)
